#9: Fun and Fancy Free

September 24, 1947

This movie includes one of my favorite Mickey Mouse cartoons, “Mickey and the Beanstalk.” This was also the last time that Walt Disney himself gave Mickey his voice. The special features of the DVD actually includes footage of Walt Disney performing Mickey’s voice. It gave me goosebumps. I got really giddy.

#3: Fantasia

November 13, 1940

Fantasia was incredibly experimental when it was made. In fact many of the special effects techniques were a mystery for years until they found a scrapbook with all the techniques that were used (which is now on display at the Disney Family Museum in California.)

#1: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

December 21, 1937

First Walt Disney Animation full-length film, first full-length animated movie ever, as well as the first color animated film. It was a lot of firsts, and it was first on my list of movies to watch.
